We are currently seeking a skilled New Brunswick Land Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
As a New Brunswick Land Surveyor, you will prepare legal plans and documentation and direct communication with clients, stakeholders, and municipal authorities. This role requires leadership in field and office operations. This role will play a critical role in ensuring survey deliverables are accurate, compliant with the New Brunswick Land Surveyors Act and Regulations, and delivered in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal & Technical Surveying
Conduct and oversee legal boundary, subdivision, and topographic surveys
Interpret and apply land titles, deeds, easements, and legal survey records
Prepare subdivision plans, reference plans, and real property reports in compliance with provincial regulations
Certify plans and documents for submission to Service New Brunswick and other regulatory bodies
Project & Client Management
Liaise with clients, municipal officials, engineers, and developers to determine survey needs
Estimate project costs, timelines, and resource requirements
Ensure survey plans meet client expectations and applicable legislation
Field & Office Supervision
Supervise field crews and ensure efficient use of GPS, total stations, and other equipment
Review field data and direct drafting team on preparation of CAD drawings and final plans
Perform quality control checks on all plans and reports before sign-off
Regulatory Compliance & Professional Practice
Maintain active licensure with the Association of New Brunswick Land Surveyors (ANBLS)
Adhere to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal surveying standards and practices
Mentor junior staff and contribute to the ongoing training of surveying team members
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics, Survey Engineering, or related field
Certifications
Must be a Commissioned Land Surveyor licensed by the Association of New Brunswick Land Surveyors (ANBLS)
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in land surveying, including legal and construction surveying
Experience in boundary law, cadastral mapping, and survey plan preparation
Leadership Roles
Proven ability to supervise field and drafting teams
Experience managing client relationships and leading survey projects independently
