Senior Software Developer / IT Support

Don More is looking for a Software Developer / IT Support person to join our team. Based in Saint John, this individual will work closely with management and staff to streamline processes and oversee IT infrastructure.

Individual should have a strong IT/Programming background. Individual should be a motivated self starter who is able to work independently and unsupervised. Individual should be able to identify challanges and opportunities and plan a workflow to overcome these.

Role:

Don-More is a consulting engineering firm focused on land development. We have a strong background in geospatial data acquisition and management. All of our IT and Software background has been learned by trial and error with no formal training. We are looking for an individual to join our team that will lead development of workflows and support IT within our organization.

• Software development - Primairly using Python & Javascript - Two primairy focuses:

  • Web mapping (Django, some javascript on front end)

  • Hosted VPS set-up and maintenance (Ubuntu, Postgresql, Ngix, Guncorn, etc.) - set up and manage staging and production server

  • QGIS plugin development (Python)

  • In-house data processing routines (python)

• IT Support - We currently use Windows computers for staff utalizing Google Workspace - looking for support for staff using this current infrastructure, as well as investigating and planning a roadmap moving forward as we grow.

Skills:

Very strong python experience with django framework

Familarity with javascript for front end development (VUE framework)
