We are currently seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Summer Student to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview

DMSE is seeking a motivated Civil Engineering Summer Student to join our engineering team for the summer term. This role is ideal for a student currently enrolled in a civil engineering program who is eager to gain hands-on experience in land development and municipal infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will support engineering staff with both field and office based tasks while developing practical skills in a professional consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with civil engineering design tasks including grading, servicing, and stormwater management.

  • Support preparation of drawings, calculations, and reports under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Assist with data collection, site inspections, and field reviews as required.

  • Coordinate with survey and drafting teams to support project deliverables.

  • Help maintain organized project files and documentation.

  • Perform basic analysis and quantity take offs.

  • Follow company safety policies and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering program at an accredited post secondary institution.

  • Completion of at least one year of civil engineering studies preferred.

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is considered an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Willingness to learn and contribute in both office and field environments.

  • A valid driver’s license is considered an asset.
